Coming Winter 2027 to Laxson Auditorium

Chico Community Ballet will be presenting a BRAND NEW ballet "The Land of Oz"

A murmur curls where shadows bite,

A hidden shift in fading light.

A lion guards his trembling might,

A tin heart aches through endless night,

A wanderer of straw takes flight—

Three stories stitched in threads so tight,

All drawn toward a distant sight.

A girl steps forth with quiet light,

Uncertain where her hopes ignite.

For right and wrong may twist despite

The tales the world believes are right;

And truth can blur, then reignite

In places blinded by their plight.

A good witch glimmers soft and bright,

Her presence calm, her spirit slight;

While one in green, misread in spite,

Stands shaped by fate’s uneven bite—

A soul whose story bends the light,

Half-shadowed but not born from might.

When shadows rise with sharpened claws,

And truth steps out from old applause,

The veil breaks open—just because…

To welcome you to *The Land of Oz*.
